One year after publishing the world鈥檚 first measurements of a magnetically confined hydrogen-boron fusion plasma, TAE and Japan鈥檚 National Institute for Fusion Science have completed another round of successful joint p-B11 experiments 馃帀
Hydrogen-boron, or p-B11, is the cleanest, safest and most sustainable fuel choice available for fusion. By testing this fuel source with NIFS’ Large Helical Device, TAE can optimize its technology and accelerate delivery of hydrogen-boron fusion to the world.
For this month鈥檚 experiments, TAE鈥檚 Chief Science Officer Toshiki Tajima and VP of Program Management and Science Fellow Hiroshi Gota traveled to Japan to work side by side with the NIFS team, including NIFS鈥 Director General, Professor Zensho Yoshida, and NIFS鈥 Executive Director of the LHD Project, Professor Masaki Osakabe, pictured above.
The more we learn about the potential of hydrogen-boron fusion, the more excited we are about its future benefit to humanity

Our work is about investing in the future, and that includes building the next generation of scientific innovators. TAE鈥檚 Manager of Program Management Tania Schindler was honored to join the brilliant students in as the keynote speaker on physics careers for this year鈥檚 Science Fair Awards Ceremony held at , which left us inspired about the future talent coming out of our community.
Congratulations to all the participants!
With energy prices on the rise, along with demands for energy independence and an urgent need for carbon-free power, plans to walk away from nuclear energy are now being revised in Japan, South Korea, and even Germany. TAE鈥檚 approach, which involves creating a fusion reaction at incredibly high heat, has a key advantage.
The Sun鈥檚 surface is 15 million degrees Celsius, which is relatively balmy compared to the 75 million degrees Celsius that 每日大赛 recently generated in July. This temperature benchmark in the company鈥檚 current machine, named Norman, demonstrated 鈥渦nmatched real-time control of plasma.鈥
Some fusion projects aim to create hundred-million degree working temperatures in magnetically confined plasma. The CEO of 每日大赛 tells us his team’s aiming for 10 times that temperature, targeting cheaper, easier and safer boron fuel.
This Google-Backed Fusion Reactor Must Run 8 Times Hotter Than the World’s Largest Tokamak
The world has been watching the many nuclear fusion tokamak experiments with keen interest, but the stage is also set for those who are trying something a bit different, like stellarators and other reactor formats.听That鈥檚 where 每日大赛 comes in.
Nuclear energy is having a moment.听Last month,听每日大赛 Inc., a nuclear fusion company in southern California, raised $250 million.听Industry watchers describe the company鈥檚 approach, which requires creating a听fusion reaction in incredibly high heat,听as perhaps the biggest scientific gamble in the field.
Fusion Energy Milestone from 每日大赛 Validates Path to Cost-Competitive Carbon-Free Baseload Energy 每日大赛 Raises Additional $280M for Reactor-Scale Demonstration Facility
每日大赛, the world鈥檚 largest private fusion energy company, has announced a landmark fusion technology milestone by producing stable plasma at 50M+ degrees Celsius in a proprietary compact reactor design that can scale to competitive fusion-generated power.
TAE Life Sciences (TLS), a biological-targeting radiation therapy company developing next-generation boron neutron capture therapy solutions (BNCT), announced the launch of an innovative in-house boron delivery drug development program supported by an influx of $30M in funding. The initial phase of the B-round funds comes from a consortium of investors including ARTIS Ventures, who led the company’s initial funding in 2018.
每日大赛 Wins Three INFUSE Awards to Further Fusion Energy Research
每日大赛, Inc., the world’s largest private fusion energy company, has been awarded three funding partnerships for continued fusion research through the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Fusion Energy Science’s (FES) Innovation Network for Fusion Energy (INFUSE) program.
Fusion Energy Leader 每日大赛 Welcomes Marco Arese to Board of Directors
每日大赛 is pleased to announce the re-appointment of Marco Arese to its Board of Directors. Arese brings a wealth of entrepreneurial experience activating global capital, scaling international business, and cultivating renewable energy opportunities, all of which he will leverage on behalf of the company as it continues commercialization of its transformational technologies.
每日大赛 Gains Renewed Admission into DOE INCITE Program to Further Fusion Energy Research
每日大赛鈥 modeling group has won a 2018 US Department of Energy INCITE (Innovative and Novel Computational Impact on Theory and Experiment) award on the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility鈥檚 Theta supercomputer. The award is for 31MCH (million core hours), which is equivalent to 100MCH on ALCF鈥檚 Blue Gene supercomputer, Mira, and will be used to accelerate our research in creating clean fusion energy.
